Hello, My Name is Harley!

Harley is a sweet, 3-month-old boy with the heart of a survivor. Thought to be an American Cattle Dog and Pit Bull Terrier mix, Harley’s true lineage will be revealed once his DNA results arrive, but his personality already shines bright. Harley is already up to date on all his vaccines—Distemper/Parvo, Rabies, and Bordetella—and is protected from fleas, ticks, and heartworm. His health has been closely monitored by his rescuers, who have ensured he receives everything he needs to thrive. Although Harley is still too young for neutering, his adoption fee is $175, with $75 returned upon proof of his procedure. He has also been microchipped, so he will always have a way to be identified if lost. Every step of Harley’s care has been approached with diligence and love, ensuring he is ready to find the perfect home.

My Story

Harley’s journey has been nothing short of remarkable. Born outside and left to fend for himself, he braved the harsh elements until the day he was rescued by a caring foster family. At just 2 months old, this little fighter overcame the odds and survived the deadly parvo virus—a disease that is often fatal to young puppies. He was the smallest of his litter and, as the runt, was especially vulnerable. Harley spent a critical week being syringe-fed every few hours and receiving subcutaneous fluids and medications around the clock to stabilize him. He also battled a heavy worm infestation during this time, requiring additional treatments. His caretakers dedicated countless hours to his recovery, never giving up hope even when he was at his weakest. Against all odds, Harley’s spirit never wavered—he continued to fight for his life, responding to the care and love he was shown each day.

Now, after conquering so much, Harley is blossoming into a truly special pup. Although smaller than his siblings, he makes up for it with boundless energy and a big, loving heart. Harley loves to play with toys, chase after balls, and wrestle gently with other puppies under the watchful eyes of his caregivers. When playtime is over, he transforms into a cuddle bug, seeking out laps, arms, or soft blankets for comforting naps. Harley adores lounging on the couch with his caretakers and is always ready to give hugs and kisses when picked up. He’s making steady progress learning his puppy manners, responding well to gentle corrections and commands like “no” and “down.” Potty training is going well—Harley started out using puppy pads while he was recovering, but now that he’s healthy, he enjoys short, supervised trips outside with the other resident dogs, learning to go potty outdoors and getting to know the sights and sounds of the world. Harley’s resilience and affectionate nature make him a joy to nurture, and he’s sure to make a wonderful addition to a loving home willing to continue his training and provide him with the care he deserves.
